The recent actions of President Donald J. Trump regarding the treatment of immigrants and refugees entering our country have been troubling to a wide ranging group of citizens across the United States.
It was Louisiana Sweet Dough Pie, and it is served only once a year—on Good Friday.
During this Lenten season, as we prepare to mark the suffering and resurrection of the Son of God, I found it extremely moving to come to understand some of the pleas of these children of the street, who desperately hope for their own rebirth.
Many people in this country can appropriately be called multiracial; very few people are completely one specific race. The difference for me, and others like me, is that when skin color or appearance is not characteristically Caucasian, it becomes more apparent.
Thérèse of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face was buried in the Lisieux municipal cemetery on October 4, 1897. She was the first to be buried in the new plot her monastery had purchased in response to the city’s new legislative directives prohibiting interment inside the cloister.
