Sometimes we are so busy and distracted we don’t even notice the people God places in our paths. We miss out on the chance to be his hands and feet in the world.
Dear God, I am sorry that my busyness keeps me from noticing your people—
the coworker having a bad day, the friend who needs a listening ear,
the neighbor going to bed hungry.
I’m sorry I miss these opportunities to show your love to others.
Please help me slow down and pay attention.
Open my eyes to see others as you do.
Then, open my heart to love them as you do.
Make eye contact with the people you encounter today and give them your full attention. You don’t have to have all the answers to their problems; your presence and consideration will be most welcome.
