Today reflect on the passage from Matthew 8:26:
“Then he got up, rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was great calm.”
Help me notice when a problem has receded,
to pay attention to the hours
when I am most at peace.
I always keep an ear tuned to worry.
to the coming uncertainty.
Show me when the heavens
are bold with the sun.
Sometimes I’m still scanning for the storm
when I’m under a clear sky.
I long to recognize when the rains have moved on.
Take some time to think about the last year or two, and notice how some of the storms you or your loved ones have had to endure (family, work, health) have now passed.
