Suffering for Animals

Q: If someone actually suffers from caring about animals and their plight in the world, does this do any good?

A: We are, in fact, stewards of creation rather than owners of it. In differing ways, we need to respond to the abuse of our environment, to the abuse of animals and to the abuse suffered by other people.

People make changes in society when they transform anger about an injustice into positive action to combat that injustice. A controlled anger can turn the question “Why doesn’t someone do something about that?” into two other questions: What can I do about that? How can I help other people recognize the importance of this issue? The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals arose from such anger.
